GNU RESPONSIBILITIES AND PROJECT TYPE:
The project purpose was to renovate and bring up to code the existing culinary lab of the school, renovate the group restrooms as well as the clinic restroom to meet ADA compliance.  As a result, improvements were required to the building envelope, fire alarm, fire safety egress, HVAC, electrical, force main, grease trap, plumbing, gas lines, fire suppression, mechanical, structural, plumbing systems, and roof systems while the culinary lab was renovated.

We successfully completed the project by getting involved in the design of the project.  When we reviewed the design for constructability, we found several elements were missing or in error.  Such items as the grease line were not verified for flow, energy load calculations were incorrect, etc…  We also brought in building inspectors to confirm our findings.  These issues were taken to the attention of PM.  This project was composed of several challenging tasks, but its success was due to the constant communication among the stakeholders.  We, as the driving force of the project, communicated with the Owner on a daily basis and were accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
