Sr. Project Manager
GNU’s Senior Project Manager provides leadership and guidance on the firm’s projects by demonstrating administrative, business, and technical expertise to the firm’s staff. A Senior Project Manager is fully responsible for interpreting, elaborating, organizing, controlling execution and coordination of project assignments. As the project’s liaison between project team members, a Senior Project manager is the client’s main point of contact. Other duties are monitoring of schedules, budgets and manpower allocation to guarantee the individual project goals. Provides value engineering suggestions and anticipates constructability issues by relaying possible solutions to the project’s project manager and other key project players, assist in firm’s marketing efforts by reviewing requesting for qualifications and proposals, participate in firm’s presentations and contract negotiations.
Minimum Education / Years of Experience Required
15 years in the field of engineering, architecture or construction management. A bachelor’s degree in an engineering, architecture or construction management field. A master’s degree is preferred in one of the above fields is preferred.
Project Manager
GNU’s project manager directly manages the performance of the firm’s construction projects ensuring project timelines and financial goals are met for the project’s owner without compromising quality or safety. The project manager provides expertise in the construction on all technical aspects of the project in a supervisory capacity and develops construction methods in a cost and efficient manner. In doing so the PM adheres to the master plans and technical specifications of each project or task order. A PM’s responsibilities include assistance in coordination and preparation of contract proposals and negotiations, review designs, monitor budgets, develop master schedules, develops and implements quality control programs, monitors manpower requirements, lead project team meetings and keep project owner informed of project’s progress.
Minimum Education / Years of Experience Required:
10 years in the field of engineering, architecture or construction management. A bachelor’s dree in an engineering, architecture or construction management field.
Asst. Project Manager
An Assistant Project Manager supports the Senior Project Manager and Project Manager in all aspects of the construction management of a project. Assists in the organization, coordination and execution of project activities under the direction of the project manager. Obtains, tracks, and evaluates required project documentation in order to confirm projects activities are in accordance to design drawings and technical specifications. Evaluates cost proposals and contracts, obtains schedule and budget information for project updates and assists Project Manager in preparation for project meetings and attends meetings.
Minimum Education / Years of Experience Required
2 years in the field of engineering, architecture or construction management. An associate degree in an engineering, architecture or construction management field.
Estimator
GNU’s Estimator reviews construction documents in order to forecast project cost and evaluate project budgets within the given project duration. Responsible for the collection and compilation of project activity data regarding cost and availability. Must evaluate activity cost to current area market rates considering activity scope of work. Cost analysis is performed by evaluating activity detailed by resources, labor, material, and equipment required to complete each task/ activity at the project site. Performs project take-offs and calculates quantity-offs in order evaluate proposals. Also responsible for marketing project on behalf of project’s owner with the goal of obtaining project interest and diversity.
Minimum Education / Years of Experience Required
5 years in the field of engineering, architecture, construction management or building technologies. A bachelor’s degree in building or construction management field.
Scheduler
GNU’s Scheduler prepares the master or baseline schedule of each of the firm’s projects highlighting the project’s critical path. The scheduler obtains a full and complete understanding of the project’s scope of work using the construction drawings and technical specifications to forecast the completion of the project. The Scheduler prepares monthly schedule status reports and performs time impact analyzes. The Scheduler is responsible to prepare weekly or monthly reports by collecting and monitoring the progress of each of the firm’s projects.
Minimum Education / Years of Experience Required
5 years in the field of engineering, architecture, construction management. A bachelor’s degree in an engineering, architecture or construction management field.
Superintendent
GNU’s Construction Resident provides on-site monitoring and documents daily project activities in order to determine if the contractor is performing per the contract documents and is producing the quality of worked required. Produces daily reports of work performed, manpower, materials, equipment, inspectors, and visitors. Serves as the Owner’s representative at the project site but doesn’t direct Contractor’s work force or provide input on the Contractor’s means and methods. Attends weekly project progress meetings and reports if project is on track per the base schedule. Reports to Sr. Project Manager, Project Manager, and Scheduler.
Years of Experience / Minimum Education / Certifications Required:
3 years in the field of engineering, architecture, construction management. Associate degree in science or related field. Degree may be substituted with a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction. Completion of 30 hour OSHA Safety course.
Project Engineer
GNU’s Project Engineer provides expertise in developing technical solutions. Investigates Owner’s objectives in order to develop scope of work. Prepares designs and develops technical specifications to ensure solutions to Owner’s requirements will be achieved. Also develops preliminary budgets and schedules to go along with design. Attends and participates in project meetings. Provides alternatives and resolves unforeseen conditions. Reviews designs for completeness and accuracy in order to meet local building codes. May assist in construction management of project. Reports to Sr. Project Manager.
Years of Experience / Minimum Education / Certifications Required
5 years in the field of engineering, architecture or construction management. A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, architecture or construction management field. A registered Professional Engineer (PE).
